The PIREDD Plateau project in DRC strengthens sustainable forest management and community resilience in the Mai-Ndombe province. With a focus on local governance, technical innovation, and community ownership, the project promotes climate-smart solutions to reduce deforestation, enhance biodiversity conservation and improve livelihoods. It targets the protection of over 94,000 hectares of forest, benefitting more than 23,000 rural households, and aims to inject over $4 million into local economies through payments for environmental services, and improved value chains.
