Accreditation
As a United Nations Multi Partner Trust Fund (MPTF), CAFI provides automatic unconditional access of Participating UN Organisations (PUNOs) and the World Bank (WB) to CAFI resources via approval of programmes and projects by CAFI EB.
However, Non-UN Organisations (NUNOs) including International Cooperation Agencies (ICAs), International and Local Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), Civil Society Organisations, Multilateral Development Banks and International Research Institutions, Private Sector and Government Entities require to be accredited to have access to the CAFI Fund as per requirements for implementing organizations (under category of NUNO – Non-UN Organizations).
For the accreditation process, all NUNOs must complete assessments on financial capacity HACT (Harmonized Approach to Cash Transfer), SEAH (Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment), and SES (Social and Environmental Safeguards); undertaken by an independent evaluator.
To understand their profile and access criteria to CAFI Fund, NUNOs can take a self-assessment here.
CAFI EB grants access to a NUNO through an EB decision published on CAFI’s website upon successful completion of the accreditation process.
Finally, a quality assurance plan (QA) is put in place with the NUNO to monitor the validity of HACT and SEAH, and implement any recommendations from MPTFO’s risks’ assessment and SES.
Complete information on access to CAFI Fund can be found in the CAFI’s Manual of Operations.
