Dear young professionals from Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon, Republic of Congo, Central African Republic and Democratic Republic of Congo,

The Geneva-based Secretariat of the Central African Forest Initiative (CAFI) is recruiting new Fellows for the 2026–2027 cohort. If you hold a Master’s degree and have at least one year of professional experience in fields related to sustainable development, forestry, climate change, data analysis, environmental governance or project management, this unique opportunity may be for you.

Join a dynamic international team dedicated to forest protection, climate action and sustainable development in Central Africa, while contributing to large-scale regional initiatives in collaboration with CAFI’s donors, governments and implementing partners.

Why apply?

As a CAFI Fellow, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work alongside experts at the CAFI Secretariat in Geneva;
  • Contribute to the management, monitoring and analysis of innovative sustainable development and forest conservation programmes;
  • Strengthen your technical and professional skills in an international and multicultural environment;
  • Gain direct exposure to high-level regional coordination and donor engagement processes;
  • Develop expertise on REDD+, climate finance, sustainable land use, monitoring & evaluation, and environmental governance.

Testimonials from former CAFI Fellows

The Fellowship Programme allowed me to gain valuable experience at the sub-regional level and develop solid expertise in managing large-scale country programmes.

For Abdoulaye Nchankou Njoya (Cameroon), 2025 Fellow supporting monitoring, evaluation and data analytics:

Working at the CAFI Secretariat gave me the opportunity to transform complex data and field realities into tools and insights that support better decisions for forests, climate and communities across Central Africa.
