On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, Gabon Minister of the Environment, Ecology, and Climate, HEM Mays MOUISSI, signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Climate Council (CNC), represented by its Permanent Secretary, Mr. Davy ONOMORI MBOUMBA.
This agreement concerns the delegation of the implementation of the program entitled “Demonstration and Coordination of the Pilot Project on Payments for Environmental Services in Gabon”, funded by CAFI. The total cost of the program amounts to approximately 465,000 US dollars (259 million CFA francs)
The objective of this pilot project is to test the effectiveness of the PES mechanism, by assessing the feasibility of different incentive models adapted to the Gabonese context.
